Global markets extend rally in hopes U.S. averts recession

Investors are watching earnings season anxiously, with some disappointing numbers and bleak forecasts especially from chip titanium Intel Born. 

investors in Asia and Europe wait for key inflation data to be released later on Friday and  the Federal Reserve's latest monetary policy decision next week.

Global stock markets rose further on Friday on hopes that the US economy, which grew faster than expected in the fourth quarter of last year, could avoid a recession. while Wall Street continued its rise.

After slowing the pace of rate hikes last month after four consecutive rate hikes aimed at pulling inflation down from its highest level in decades, hopes have risen that the Fed will raise rates by just 25 basis points.

The US economy grew 2.9% in 4th Q 2022, beating analyst forecasts on the back of strong consumer spending.
